Eto my nabasa akong book about the Philosophy of Punk.
GENDER ISSUES : Sexism,
Feminism and Open Homosexuality.
Many gay Punks feel that the gay movement has been co-opted and is largely meaningless.
"The gay movement as it is now is a big farce, and we have nothing nice to say about it..."
The Gay movement has been so-opted, but the Punks do not plan on making the same mistakes.
"One way to avoid such co-option is to present a movement that refuses to conform to the standards of sexual decency and moral conduct expected of even the most rebellious of youths, while avoiding the mistakes of the Gay movement: ghettoization, liberal reform, class capitulation. And that's what HOMOCORE, coming out of the pages of a gay softcore pornography fanzine for Punks is all about" (G.B. Jones and Bruce LaBruce)
Queer Punks aim to show that "not every homo is an ASSIMILATIONIST, i.e., someone who is gay but wants to be part of mainstream culture, thinks EQUAL RIGHTS means women and homos in the army, the right for a shitty job for life, and thinks that freedom of choice means Coke, Pepsi or Seven-up" (Tom Jennings, editor, HOMOCORE #7).
