iisa lang ang show na may nag mosh sa amin, nung february 3 pa ata yun. haha, i remember the day pa. dati, nagmomosh din ako sa mga hardcore/punk shows pero i stopped kasi di na kaya ng lungs ko. di kaya ng stamina

it's harder than you think, some dude actually TRIED moshing to us but got bored trying to look for the timing. haha

ahh, too mosh or not to mosh. is that the question?

i personally go against moshing. okay lang yung "dancing" tsaka yung tipong wala kang nasasaktan na tao. pero if you do that "thing" you also have to consider the people around you who are not into it. okay lang kung maliit yung crowd tsaka lahat kakilala mo. pero in some instances when you invite some friends over to a gig tapos hindi pa nila medyo kabisado yung mga yun and then they get hurt, and they won't understand it. dun nagsisimula ang violence sa pit. then there are some people who take it to the next level when they mosh. they will taunt non-moshers by elbowing them when they stand too close to the pit. speaking, of course, from personal experience.

and lastly my personal beef with moshing is that over the years it's lost it's meaning. it was supposed to be a way to feel the music and vent out feelings. ngayun masyado nang contrived. may mga rules tsaka moves na. i cant understand why people came up with mosh steppings and patterned dances.

to quote ian mckaye, "See, [slam dancers] have one form of communication: violence ... So to disorient them, you don't give them violence. I'd say, 'Excuse me, sir...'- I mean, it freaks them out -'Excuse me, sir, would you please cut that crap out?"

From the perspective of the band, i think it is great.
I mean of course there are all different types of hardcore and i guess the "moshing" changes (saying moshing always makes me cringe >_<)
But if you’re a band and you write a fast bit to your song then you want the crowd to run around in circles pulling everyone next to them into it, it sucks when a singer has to yell at the crowd to circle pit.
Heavier bands write breakdowns so people can mosh. Bands don't go "Ok well we'll repeatedly play this palm muted e minor chord with corresponding double kick bass drum so that the crowd can nod their head." They write it so the crowd can mosh, punch the ground, do cartwheel and spin around kicking flailing their arms.
People have also hated moshing that’s just a fact, I have always loved it. Leaving a show not sweating and completely tired is so boring. Stage dive, run in circles, punch people, jump into the crowd, just have fun.

Moshing *cringe* becomes lame when people start crews or mosh gangs; this was a huge thing here for the past year or so. People not listening to the music just trying to do choreographed moves and get in photos.

I regained my faith in hardcore at the recent ceremony tour. From the very first note, the crowd exploded. I was worried because the bands before, while getting a good response many people were just watching, which is fine but can get boring. IT WAS INSANE! I felt like i was at a black flag concert. Every single kid was just going nuts. Walking around punching themselves in the head. Each mic grab 50 people would pile onto the singer, if you weren't moving then you got moved. Lots of people got hurt, but you picked them up and then everything was fine.

batangas has always had that "macho stuff bullshit" stigma attached to it. well, it cant be helped. e dito nga, may ngmomosh sa ska bands, lol.

sana lang e wag naman na lahatin. di porket ganito nangyayari dito e ganun na ugali nmin lahat.

im laughing my ass off because i do remember jeffrey santos and co. we had a lot of memorable "battles" with them in the past. and now there's a new generation of asswipes just like them. mahirap siguro maintindihan yung simpleng simple na sentence: kung ayaw mo na masaktan e wag ka na sumama sa moshpit.

but whats good is i see a lot of kids in the pit during gigs. and i do mean kids: small framed, skinny assed and dirty as fuck. and they are the ones who are doing the damage. yeah, there are still some huge assholes who come to the pit with the intent to hurt, but these skinny kids far outnumber the brutes 10:2.

so with that, i still hope for the best.



and although i do not like to mosh, in the viewpoint of a band member, it's better if there is a pit. a hc/punk gig aint one if there is no one moshing. but the reality is, that there are places where you cannot. and if you have ever organized a gig, alam nyo ung pakiramdam ng binubullshit kayo ng may ari ng venue o ng gamit kapag may nasira.

PS. madami na din mga babae dito na nakikimosh. minsan nga sila pa nakakasakit, hahahaha.

HC bands like SOF and FORGIVENESS DENIED was the favorite mosh at that time,
All moshings here always leads into a BRAWL halos lahat ata ng GIGS dito ganun.
Kahit nga yung mga inorganize naming SKA NIGHT from I-3, mosh pit to brawl parin ang nangyayari.
