and that's why we need to educate and not isolate them

some trivia: When I first head Sid Vicious' verson of "My Way" some years back, I thought that during the intro, he was doing a Sinatra impersonation or trying to doing his best caricature of a really bad lounge singer but I read he was actually making fun of Ferdinand Marcos, or at least the way Marcos spoke.

MC5- first came to prominence as figureheads to JOHN SINCLAIRS "WHITE PANTHER PARTY" in Detroit going to Chicago to play at 1968 democratic convention riots . Describe retrospectively as the first 70's band in the 60's.The MC5 represented about equal parts dope & revolutionary ideology,macho flash& uncompromisingly violent high energy rock n roll.=The 70's punk revival was a scene that MC5 originally pioneered.MC5 is the grand daddies of AMERICAN HARDCORE....


THE STOOGES- a band that was formed by the legendary JAMES JEWEL OSTERBURG a.k.a " IGGY POP" together w/d RON ASHETON on guitars ,SCOTT ASHETON on drums& DAVE ALEXANDER on bass.Elektra records scooped them up along w/d MC5 in 1965.Track after track of 3 chord banal ,slobbering rock n roll, it was quintessential punk rock hailed by afficionados of the genre ridiculed by other sections of rock press.....


THE VELVET UNDERGROUND-the seminal New york band & one of the most important influence in rock ,though never accorded during their existence the recognition their pioneering music warranted .They were formed in 1966 w/d LOU REED-guitar & vocals,JOHN CALE-bass & viola ,STERLING MORRISON -guitars, MAUREEN TUCKER-drums.Fortunately they had by that time came to attention of ANDY WARHOL to add to his multi media unit "THE FACTORY"

- Blank Generation is the first album by punk rock band Richard Hell and the Voidoids, produced by Richard Gottehrer and released in 1977 on Sire Records. The title track is loosely based on the single "The Beat Generation," a late-1950s collaboration between Bob McFadden and poet Rod McKuen.

- British contemporaries of Hell, the Sex Pistols rewrote Blank Generation into their own song called "Pretty Vacant".
