(OO!
paano lutuin? ehermm... ehermm...
tadaaaaaa! sapaketi ala veggie. ho ho ho | |

yes and no, most indians are vegetarians. di ko pa nassusbukan ung vegie urger sa mcdo or sa burger king. i'd rather support support veggie options at less offensive restaurants, and I’d rather not spend any of my money at McDonald's. can't imagine a vegetarian/vegan eating at mcdo. at sa pagkakaalam ko animal lard ung gamit ng mcdo(as well as other restaurants) sa pagpprito nila. | |

| hindi ako vegan pero since i moved in japan i'm slowly refraining from eating meat. ewan ko, nakakawalang gana na eh. mabigat sa katawan. since i have to move around a lot since i'm a teacher. then i have to ride a bike papuntang school. so dapat di feeling bloated. the last time i ate meat, parang 3 weeks ago pa, tidbits lang din.
i usually eat fruits, oatmeal or wheat bread, or nilalamon ko lang kinugoshi tofu (parang taho sa atin), and lots and lots of veggies...masarap kasi gulay dito lalo na ang squash, pwede na walang kanin. ahaha.
if you're looking for reasons to become vegan, i think it would be much better if it's a personal one, i mean it's a complete change of lifestyle, and it's not for everyone. just an opinion. | |

| Subject: WARNING: soft drinks with Beta Carotene is not suited for Vegans Tue Dec 22, 2009 3:17 am | |
| an interesting read (sorry its a long post:
SOFT DRINKS REPORT
i know that Coca Cola aren' t vegan. here's the p(r)oo(f)p! they used fish gelatine as a carrier for the Beta Carotene. The company and manufacturer did not put the "gelatine" on the can as it is legally not an ingredient. I think that all soft drinks hat has Beta Carotene as an ingridient is not vegan. Als

Reply from Coca Cola: Thank you for contacting The Coca-Cola Company. We certainly appreciate the opportunity to respond to your inquiry.
The Coca-Cola Company does not conduct any in-house experiments on animals and, except the products that contain cochineal (which is listed on the label) and the products that contain milk (which is also indicated on the label), brands of The Coca-Cola Company in the United States do not contain any ingredient derived from animals.
However, some of our juice products contain Vitamin D3, which is derived from lanolin. Lanolin is a natural oil in the fiber of sheep's wool. It is separated from the wool after the sheep's hair is cut (sheered). Lanolin oil is obtainable without harming the sheep, but may be an issue for strict vegetarians.
Additionally, some of our suppliers use a common industry practice for grape juice clarification that does involve animal by-products. This practice is becoming increasingly less common as ultra-filtration systems are gradually replacing the gelatin used in this process. However, you may be interested to know that because our juices are certified kosher, the gelatin used to clarify the juice is made from fish.
In the U.S., the only Coca-Cola product that is currently produced with cochineal is Minute Maid Juices To Go Ruby Red Grapefruit Drink.
The only currently manufactured Coca-Cola brand products that contain milk are Swerve, Choglit, the Fruitopia Smooth products, SLAPDRINKS, Tey teas, Minute Maid BeginIt, the Planet Java products, Minute Maid Fruit and Cream Swirl frozen bars, Barq's Frozen Root Beer & Vanilla Ice Cream Float, and the Bacardi Mixers premium ice cream.
We hope this information is helpful. Please feel free to contact us again.

--------------------------------------------------------------- below is another email from Coca Cola regarding animal experiments. COKE DOES OUTSOURCE ANIMAL EXPERIMENTATION SO WHEN YOU DRINK A COKE PRODUCT YOU ARE SUPPORTING ANIMAL EXPERIMENTATION!!!
Thank you for contacting The Coca-Cola Company again.
When safety tests are required by government regulatory agencies, we do use outside laboratories in cooperation with other companies in our industry. Since our products are primarily for human consumption, we do not use the Draize test or routine LD50 tests. We will continue to monitor and evaluate the progress of alternative methods of testing. Be assured that the outside laboratories will use them when they have been proven to be an adequate substitute for animal testing and are acceptable to regulatory agencies.
