GINSENG LUZON

Ginseng Luzon is a rock trio based in Metro Manila. Their angular and decidedly visceral method of arrangement integrates a variety of stylistic elements from left-field forms ranging from hardcore and noise rock to heavy metal, math rock, and post punk.

Drummer Peter Tolibas and guitarist / vocalist Joe Hernandez formed Ginseng Luzon as an extra-curricular pastime back in college. Several personnel dysfunctions and scheduling constraints later, the band finally resolved it’s linear stability issues upon the enlistment of bassist Joel Empaynado in 2008.

The band’s limited recorded output consists of two short-form digital compilations of early compositions and a current 2012 release entitled Transmission. Although basic tracking for Transmission was virtually complete in early 2010, finalization was delayed considerably due to obscure logistical and personal concerns. The seven-track effort documents the present lineup’s initial efforts at musical collaboration.

Ginseng Luzon continues to arrange and rehearse new music, and perform whenever and wherever possible.

about the demo/split, baka meron pang naipit sa gilid-gilid ng haybol mo iskorin ko na lang or maybe make another batch of say, 20?

joe here from ginseng, nice to know some people other than our girlfriends like the tunes... like joel said gawa kami ng bagong batch ng cd's for your listening enjoyment. magdadala talaga kami sa oct 24th sa san pablo, baka makatulong sa pamasahe (tumatanggap kaya ng CD ang JAM liner?in kind nalang sana). we're also jamming on new material for a full length cd. psychotic music, in a free-jazz/LA punk/thrash/ACDC kind of way (well joel and/ peter might disagree w/my description)...nasa gitna ako ng pag so-solder ng batch ng bagong XLR cables, paglagare, etc etc; we will record ourselves, for better or for worse.

salamat ulet kay tim for letting us play.OMOG, Omerta, Talk Sick, Bee Eyes and co., great lineup...

lots of excellent bands to hear over the web and watch at the gigs, most of them are right here on this site too. a great time to be alive.
