how many fucking times have you been discriminated?

every time..i get discriminated by some jerk..especially whem doing something new for my self.

some of them asked me borderline offensive but innocent questions .

Kid - Where are from?
R - San Francisco
Kid - No , where are you really from ?
R - Oh yeah , I'm from the Philippines.

Then another kid:

Kid 2 - Do you like dogs ?
R - Yeah
Kid 2 - Do you have one ?
R - No . Can't keep it.
Kid 2 - Do you eat them ?
R - No , I don't eat meat.

Some American's perception of various cultures outside their spectrum skews how they view people of various backgrounds.
Although the intent of some Americans living in less populated areas may be harmless in questioning us about our culture and mannerisms, it's still may come off as an insult.

There is also pressure in the U.S. to assimilate to the globalized yet homogenized American culture.
A culture that rewards willful ignorance and a belief that might makes right,
a culture whose convenience is at the expense of other's suffering,
the American standard, the world standard.

Many immigrants in general ,whether unconscious or aware, assimilate in order to survive in the social context of their day to day.

To answer the question I do get discriminated against sometimes more than others,
a lot of different kinds of people live where I live and that breeds both animosity and diversity.

a lotta you folks might have worked or are working for call "cenners" here in the metro, though i know most do not by choice, and i'm sure you all get the same questions from all of our white clients (american, autralian, brit etc callers) when they're really having a hard time not getting what they want.

they start to ask you "where are YOU located?!?" and in some companies, we are allowed to divulge the information that yes, their white american companies had thought better of saving themselves corporate dollar$$$ by outsourcing their call centers here in asia, and when us reps tell them we are located in manila, philippines, they turn ugly and throw all kinds of imaginable shit at you..

WHITEY: "I knew it. thats why i don't understand a word you're saying.." (though you've been speaking with them for a good 15 minutes already. duh.)

WHITEY: "Aha. i'm fucking calling India or Pakistan or Bangladesh again!" (or whatever indian country they know of...) "Give me an american representative who speaks English!"

WHITEY: "I Knew it! that's why I'm getting all these trouble and dificulty from you people.. Get me an American Supervisor. Now!"

and my favorite racial slur of all time:

WHITEY: "I'm so glad I voted for Obama! You people are stealing American jobs for American people. serves you right Obama won!" then phone drops....

and there's a whole lotta tough shit we reps have to deal with on a daily basis, 8 hours a day. you can't imagine the shit we have to put up with just to earn money to get food on our tables and to pay the rent and bills and whatnot. and its not like we have any choice. we did not fucking ask for them to throw their stupid call centers to us but they did. and the reason? aside from cheap-ass labor, us filipinos or FLIPS as they endearingly term us are a bunch of Hardworking, Honest people. No B.S.! the whole world knows that and they ougth to remember that, too.

if only our nursing grads and doctors earn the same as call center reps, they would obviously stick to their chosen fields. if our newly gradusted engineers and teachers, information techies, etc earned as much as reps do, they wouldnt waste time working call centers, would they? or worse, they wouldn't have to slave off their asses away from home..

a lotta of this shit is mostly the governments fault... but then, thats way off-topic here already..

I once worked for a debt collecting call agency. The job was disheartening because you would have to call people and ask them for money they resentful to give.
In a year the business folded and outsourced to the Philippines.
On the day we found out we were getting laid off and the work was being sent overseas,
the xenophobia of many of my former co workers started to rear it's ugliness.

Co-worker: They're invading our country and taking our jobs to their OWN country .
Co-worker: How're they going to talk to Americans when they can't even speak English !!!

these are some of many colorful remarks made when Americans feel their job security is threatened.
I don't think it's because they are bad people, it's just that people tend to say the worst things when they feel their budget shrinking.

rups, i agree. a lot of them really aren't bad people. they've just grown accustomed to thinking that way. a lot of them throw racist remarks left and right and yet they aren't even aware of it. their culture has long taught them it's ok to think that way, so they are in fact impervious to it.. at times they even say they hate racism and discrimination... well, who can blame 'em anyway?!? di ba? lumaki na silang ganun eh.

I think discrimination has a positive side.... do u know how mankind survived? Through sheer pain and misery, through uncountable deaths and challenges..... discrimination is just one of the many obstacles and hindrances to survival. think of this..... when you become the subject of discrimination , it is either the person antagonizing you feels you're a threat or that person does not know anything about you and underestimates you therefore creating the situation to your advantage..... this principle is applicable to everything including the music scene....being discriminated just proves the fact that they are ignorant of who you are and what you stand for..... but we must also know how to draw the line between discrimination and criticism, coz criticism can be constructive...
so the next time someone disses you just be quiet and dont blow your fuse, coz that person is destroying him/herself...so just stay silent, learn to tap the gate, work around the perimeter...and that pussy is yours!!! hahahaha

i thing i know, come january when rupert and the guys steps on our soil there would be nothing but pure fucking honest music and brotherly love , woooohooooo!!!!

SOME PHOTOGRAPHERS EVEN SPECIALIZE IN STRICTLY DOG/PET PHOTOGRAPHY! AND SUCKERS WOULD GLADLY PAY TO GET THEIR DOGS IN A STUDIO PHOTOSHOOT! UNREAL!!!!

i really despise emo, emo-influenced metal, all that crap. i just think it's garbage. i kind of frusturates me that emo-mainia has had such a strong influence on local subcultures and in music in general but that's one thing.
